What this can and can't show you
I can only photograph what's visible from the air, so this doesn't replace a roofer's hands-on inspection or a building survey.
What it can show
- The roof's shape, slopes and which way each one faces
- Anything in the way, such as chimneys, dormers and roof windows
- How many panels the roof could reasonably take
- How panels would look, placed virtually on a 3D model
What it can't show
- Whether the roof structure can carry the weight of panels
- Anything under the roof surface, or inside the loft
- Your wiring, fuse board or other electrics
- Approval to connect to the grid from your electricity network (DNO)
About this service
If you’re weighing up solar, this gives you a realistic picture before anyone commits to anything. The drone flies a full orbit of the property, and that capture gets turned into a 3D model with panels placed on it virtually — so you can see roughly how a system would look and how many panels the roof could reasonably take.
